  1. This series of photos of these chicks is just the cutest ever! I am enjoying watching them grow; we've had nests that we've watched before but nothing as wonderful as this!
Very beautiful colors from the Rublev "Natural Pigment" line. I think a lot of the newer and unusual earthy pigments can lean towards being a bit on the gritty side and sometimes even a bit sticky, depending on the binder. All brands are different. Check out the May 15 post on Roz's blog re: her tests on some of the Primatek colors; you might find it interesting.

  2. So glad you're enjoying this Gretchen! :-) I look forward each day to getting home to see the chicks.

I'm having a good time experimenting with the Rublev paints. They are a pleasant diversion from my color mixing exercises! :-) I'll be trying out some more mixes over the weekend. Wish I had a blue...

I've been following Roz Wound Up since you recommended her blog and did read about the Primatek's. I've looked at the line and nearly picked up a set until I ran across Natural Pigments. There are of course more suppliers; I just became interested with NP's presentation. I'd love to try a pigment grinding kit and mixing my own watercolors.
