Out in the Swamp

A few shots across the road at the very edge of the Hockomock Swamp Preserve.

  1. Will spring ever arrive? My eyes search everywhere for the tiniest clues- but I have seen nothing yet! Love the name of your swamp- it's fun to say! I would also imagine it to be a prime location in about a month to see frog eggs and salamanders... oh and peepers! I can't wait to hear peepers!

  2. It has sure been one long winter. But here we are in March so it is only a matter of time. Peepers indeed! :-)

  3. At this season, it makes me glad I live on a temperate island. I can understand the cabin fever..but I don't know what peepers are. (Not connected, I realise)
Aloe 4 was waiting in my reader when I logged on this morning. Really beautiful, like an illustration in a nineteenth century botanical work.

  4. Spring Peepers are the little frogs that herald Spring in these parts. Their nighttime chorus will be most welcome!

Thanks, Judith! Compliments don't come much finer than yours today.
