Aloe Silverpoint Wrap

A bit of background and a bit of toning down highlights to pull up the center and that's that. If I have learned one thing well from this piece, it's that easy does it. Slow and gentle buildup is how this works.

There's a great article on silverpoint by Linda Heppes Funk in this ASBA Journal:

  1. Silverpoint really does have a look all its own, doesn't it? You have captured every curve and texture of the leaves with great sensitivity; - and you really maintained that glow through out the entire piece. Beautiful!

  2. What a wonderful review! Thank you, Gretchen!

I learn a little more each time. When I next try metalpoint, I will prepare my own ground rather than gesso board, perhaps on Bristol. I have Golden's ground too so there is plenty of experimentation to come.
