More Books!

I am a confirmed book junkie. Here are a couple more that arrived today. Koo Schadler has an egg tempera class coming up in June that interests me so I'd like to get up to speed as much as can. Besides, I'm like a sponge with art books. (The Speed book links to Google books.)

  1. So many books, so little time. What is life without books? I am in awe of how many I have squirreled away over the years (a fact that has been driven home hard to me as I continue to bring boxes of them over to the new house). Yet no matter how many I have, I enjoy every one and find great comfort in having them around me. I love being able to pick up an old favorite, and thumb through or open to a misc. page and feel like I am visiting an old, dear friend.
enjoy your new acquisitions- hope they bring you many happy hours ahead!

  2. Yes, it's so wonderful to build within my ever growing library. As of late, I've felt the need to revisit basic drawing techniques and exercises. Being able to grab a book or two on subject validates my junkie habit! :-)

  3. Books, books, books. In the basement, in the loft, under the bed, shelves in the bathroom. Each one scratches a certain itch.
Childrens books are great for fundamental information on any subject. I have a large collection. Then there are numerous field guides,
and how to's, references and histories.
Late aquisitions: "Knots, Splices and Rope Work ...;" Linda Anderson's "Flashes of Memory"; "Photoshop Elements 9 for Dummies;" "The Speedball Textbook;" "Color...;" by Betty Edwards, and a visual design book that has not come yet..

    I feel pretty rich.

  4. Wow! You're gonna be busy! :-) That is, hoping the farm has slowed down enough this season to allow you the time.

  5. The Farm is under 8+ inches of snow, about as slow as gets, except for the pottery, which is picking up speed as more participants join us. I am creating a more structured line between work and life though. I will be taking an art course this semester, whatever is available at WCU this late, to focus my energies.
These books are just buffet. I begin in the middle or end, not methodical. I pick them up when needed for reference, information or amusement. So I am prob'ly not as busy as it appears.

Beautifully and wonderfully snowed in right now. Possibly for a few days.

  6. An art course? Very cool, Margaret! I applaud your ambition! :-)

Getting snowed in here right now. Although my area isn't getting it very hard (at least yet), the Governor has already declared Monday a snow day for state employees. A five day weekend turns to six. Yes!!!
