Now With Ink and Watercolor

I wrap up the crabapple leaves with an ink and watercolor version. It felt good to return to the brush.

  1. It always amazes me to see how different the same subject can look when rendered in other mediums. The colored pencil version of these leaves vs. this ink & wc version are like night and day yet I would be hard pressed to choose one over the other. It's nice to be able to choose your medium although sometimes the subject matter chooses its own; quite often you just "know" instinctively what to grab for the second your inspiration hits!
I enjoyed your lake photos; the tiny nest with leaves in it is precious!

  2. This was a fun piece where I gave myself leeway to play wet in wet. Indeed, a whole different look. Colors are a bit richer in real life...

I was so taken by that nest, only four feet from the ground! It was wonderful to be out for a walk as it seems this year I've spent lots of time with indoor art related activities. Perhaps a balance to come? ;-)
