I've been inspired to try something completely different!
In order to get prepared, I needed to set up a few earth tones for the project. You will notice that besides the usual ingredients for mixing watercolors, pigment and medium, there's a bag of chalk. I'm thinking that the chalk, a possible ingredient in gouache, will add opacity.
I didn't bother mulling as the palette knife seemed to work well. Perhaps if my pigments hadn't been previously dispersed, a muller would have been needed to make a proper mix.
Here are my colors all set for tomorrow. My plan is to stamp cinnamon fern fronds on to a 20" x 32" sheet of milkweed paper. More tomorrow!
Oooh-looks like a great project. And I love that cinnamon fern already. I hope all goes well.
