Mimosa Revisited

Yesterday while admiring the Mimosa trees , the land owner pulled into his driveway. I took the opportunity to explain my earlier shots and that today I was carrying my macro equipment, and so received permission to shoot these beautiful trees up close. Surprisingly, not even a single bee was in sight on these flowers, although they were out in numbers on the still flowering Sweet Pepperbush.

  1. With these stunning photos, you have truly captured the feelings I had when a child and held the mimosa blossoms as close to my eyes as possible, drinking in the pink of it all, and laying on the grass under the tree, staring up at the sky through the lacy leaves, while cicadas droned in the heavy air of late summer. Such pleasant memories!

  2. Oh, I'm so glad you enjoyed these. I was waist deep in green briar with tripod in tow, making for rather slow and tangled going. All was worth it as I stood under the tree, soaking up its beauty.
