Development

Today I wandered about, here and there adding form and color. I tried glazing simply with added oil. Not a lot, but I wonder how it might affect drying time?

Greens are fascinating. I think I am dirtying them severely on the white palette and they still look very green on the panel!

  1. As a "non" painter of oils, I can only sit back and watch your progress with eager anticipation and equal fascination. I feel as if I am truly watching a master at work here!

  2. It is quite humbling trying to copy Melendez. There is substantial documentation on pigments and possible brush techniques with, for instance Rembrandt or Velasquez, but not a lot for Melendez, it seems. I look at close up images wondering just how he accomplished that certain passage.
