I started a second practice copy to have a few in the queue. This is good in case something needs a lot of drying or I get into ambitious day.
My red is off, more looking more like a pumpkin. I may have to grind up something or other to reach those truer reds.
So are you saying that yesterday's post with the detail of pears was your copy of the Melendez painting? I honestly thought it was a cropped photo of his original, to show us what you were using as your inspiration! WELL DONE! And today's copy has such depth- I can "feel" the roundness of each one.

Well, I guess I really haven't described what it is that I am up to here! In this evening's post I will have to get to my details. I sure wish the Melendez exhibition was still going on at the MFA--the catalog says they have two of their own on view so a trip is in the making.
