It actually sounded like pouring rain as clouds of acorns released simultaneously. <br /><br />Huge piles of pine cones and acorns this year!<br /><br />The local forecast is light rain today but heavy rain and high winds overnight. Quite often when out photographing for my journals, I forget to simply look up!<br />Our foliage is looking mighty sparse as well, with many trees (mostly maples) already bare; the only color left is the gold and copper from the oaks and beeches.
